The First of the “New Seven Wonders of the New World”, a New Solution of Evaporative Cooling PCA Unit in Beijing New Airport

Beijing new airport, also known as the second international airport of Beijing, is a super large comprehensive transportation hub for international aviation built between Daxing District of Beijing and Guangyang District of Langfang, Hebei Province. It covers a total area of 41,000 mu, about the size of 63 Tiananmen Squares, with a total investment of RMB 80 billion, not including the surrounding supporting facilities. The shape of Beijing’s new airport terminal means “a phoenix spreading its wings” and forms a double-hub pattern (dragon and phoenix bringing prosperity) with the Capital Airport, which is ranked first in the “Seven Wonders of the New World” by British media judges. The soon-to-be-completed Beijing’s new airport will be put into trial operation in October 2019.

The total cooling load designed for this project exceeds 4,000 tons, and the centralized cooling source of the aircraft air conditioning system is set in different areas combined with the location of the boarding bridge. Shenling provides a new integrated evaporative cooling and low-temperature cooling solution for Beijing new airport. It utilizes ultra-high energy efficiency and low-temperature refrigeration technology, evaporative cooling technology, dual-system frequency conversion technology, and variable flow rate operation to centralize the cold supply and adjustment system to satisfy the need for the change of cooling load for operation in the airport area, which can run continuously for a long time in low temperature and high humidity environment, with the unattended automatic control function. Compared with traditional aircraft ground air conditioning systems, Shenling integrated evaporative cooling cryogenic water chillers can significantly reduce the operating cost of aircraft cooling for airlines. This integrated solution is applicable to municipal buildings and rail transit systems.
